About Me:
I grew up in Sherman TX....did a few years of college at UNT in Denton, and then moved to Dallas for 8 years where I waitressed, bartended and found myself in an improv sketch comedy group called Random Scam. In 1982, I moved to LA with my best friend, Tina Robins. We had created a female comedy team called Robin and Robins and my fondest memory was meeting Robin Williams and asking him if he wanted to join us and be Robin, Robin & Robins because it would help his career.

Tina and I dissolved our team after about a year and I went on to do stand-up on my own. I toured the country for several years and when I was in town, I taught comedy traffic school. I was cast in one movie....'Killer Tomatoes Strike Back"...(see video clip) and one TV pilot...."Nut House' directed by none other than...Mel Brooks!

Eight years and I wasn't famous, I decided to chuck it and move to Washington, DC and change the world. I worked for the National Organization for Women (NOW) and the Empower Program...and performed on the Scandal Tour Bus as Nancy Reagan and Gennifer Flowers. Lots of great stories from these years if you ever want to take me out for a drink and listen to them all.

In 1996, I moved back to Sherman to care for my mother in what would turn out to be her last year. Great experience being with her for that year.

I moved to Boulder after she passed away 10 years ago and ran an educational organization for 5 years. I started dreaming of opening my own business and even had the idea for Rockin' Robin's a year before I decided to make it happen. I knew my concept that would include the jukebox and dance floor would be a winner.

The singing in a rock band actually came after I opened the store and started calling myself Rockin' Robin. I just decided to adopt the monikor because I love rock and roll music so much. But finally realizing my dream to sing in a band was and still is one the highlights of my life.

The Cougar's Closet....Fashion Tips for the HOT Mature Woman by Rockin' Robin (featured in the Oyster Magazine)

From Wikipedia, the new definition of Cougar Cougar refers to an older woman, usually in her 30s-40s but usually on the younger end of this spectrum who sexually pursue younger men in their 20s or early 30s. In many cases, the alternative scenario is true where these women are pursued… Continue

Hey, it's Christmas time, it's OK to be a little cheesy.

Instead of writing a typical "this is what I did in 2007" Christmas letter, I wrote a thank you letter to this year. I hope you enjoy it and it warms your fingers and toes and heart. :) Hey, it's Christmas time, it's OK to be a little cheesy.

Dear 2007,

Thank you for breaking me and rebuilding me this year. Thank you for taking your time and doing it very fully and precisely. There was nothing wasted in this year. More growth than the first 27 years…

Robin,

Great to see you at BOB last night. You have an incandescent smile. As promised, here is the link to the very indie movie featuring Karen Lamoureaux:

Loved the MIAB video. Saw them at Nissi's early this year and LOVED them. GirlsOnTop also ROCKED the Motown event for Parenting Place in April. Look for the winner of your Dress-Up Party Auction item to be coming in eventually. Thanks for all your support over the years and looking very forward to Band on the Tracks!

Hi! I'm trying to get a friend in to your store, and I was wondering if you still have that beautiful blue and white Scarlette O'Hara/Fifties dress. I want to show it to her, but Im not going to drag her in if its already gone...

And separately, Robin, condolences on Boo! :( :( It's so sad to lose a pet. At least you had him for a good loooong time. I feel for you.
