Strolling Scones — Lonelyphobia
The Strolling Scones began their musical path on New Years Eve of 2004/2005. What was supposed to be a one night affair evolved into a long and winding road of gigs, enthusiastic audiences, and two well received and very original albums. The key to the band’s success has been in keeping high musical standards while not taking anything else too seriously. A mythical story evolved concerning the band that has driven (or maybe haunted) them ever since. It’s a twisted and intricate tale of an unfortunate freezing accident in 1969, and recent thawing, whereby this up and coming British invasion band, cryogenically preserved, is now here today, doing what they were doing (musically and otherwise) during the 1960s. Inventing fictitious personna and wearing authentic 60s era costumes, the Strolling Scones hit the stage and are ready to rock the world. The “fun meter” definitely stays in the red as the dance floor fills with uninhibited celebration. That’s the way the myth goes ... and actually how it is during a Strolling Scone’s performance.
Press reviews of the band have included such descriptions as “imagine Jefferson Airplane meets Spinal Tap” or “if Austin Powers were a real person... he’d be grooving with the Strolling Scones”, and “The Summer of Love has finally come back.” This is the dawning of the “Age of Flour Power”! And of course never forget ... Everybody Must Get Sconed.
